Reason codes
Reason codes group the reasons for holding, cancelling or rejecting orders and reporting scrap. Add a note to explain what happened on the specific order.
The four lists
| List | Used when |
|---|---|
| Hold | Pausing a build |
| Cancel | Cancelling a build |
| Reject | Rejecting an order during approval |
| Scrap | Reporting material lost on a step |
Codes help you spot recurring problems, such as late deliveries or machine downtime. The note gives the details someone needs to understand that case.
Choose a code
If your company has configured reason codes, a picker appears beside the reason field. Choose the closest match and add a note explaining the issue. Some codes require an explanation before you can submit.

If there is no picker, enter the reason in the text box.
Set up reason codes
Reason codes are configured separately for each company.
- Keep each list short; five to seven clear choices is a useful starting point.
- Give each code a distinct meaning so people know which one to choose.
- If you include Other, require a note explaining the reason.
- Agree on the codes with the people who will use them.
