The work order page
View a build's status, materials, finished units, documents and history in one place.
The header
The top of the page carries the identity — number, name, what is being built, quantity and status — and the action bar.
The action bar shows the actions available for the current status. See How a work order moves.
Progress
Three figures, kept separate: steps, material and output. The same three as in the list, with the detail behind them.
The tabs
| Tab | What is in it |
|---|---|
| Steps | The operations, in order, each expandable to work it |
| Material | Every line the plan found, with reserved and issued quantities |
| Receipts | Finished units, one entry per receipt |
| Documents | Drawings, instructions and attachments |
| History | Every state change, who and why |
| Attention | Only appears when something is wrong |
The Attention tab
The Attention tab appears when there is an issue to review:
- On hold — the reason, how long, and a reminder that material stays reserved.
- Cancelled — the reason, plus anything already issued that is still out.
- Material short — how much is not reserved, and where to fix it.
Steps
Each step expands to show its material and, for whoever is assigned, the controls to work it: start it, handle its material, close it with a note.
Steps that pull material show their pick or purchase controls inline. Steps that are labor only go straight to completion. See Steps.
Material
One row per part, merged across the whole structure, showing:
- What the build needs.
- What is reserved.
- What has been issued.
- Where in the structure the demand came from.
Reserved and issued are different columns for a reason
Reserved means the stock is spoken for and still on the shelf. Issued means it has left and is in the build. A build can be fully reserved and have issued nothing — that is a normal state for an approved order that has not started.
Receipts
Each receipt is a batch of finished units: how many, when, at what cost, into which lot.
A build of 100 received in three batches has three receipts, each with its own cost. See Receive finished units.
History
The full sequence of state changes, with who and why. Not editable, and not the same as the comment thread.
