Partix Docs

Product attributes

The manufacturer's own data for the part: what it is, what it does and where the datasheet is.

The part details dialog opens on this tab.

71-product-attributes.webpThe Product Attribute tab.

What it holds

The technical description of the part as the manufacturer publishes it: the detailed description, package and specifications, along with the datasheet.

Where a value is long, it scrolls in place rather than pushing the rest of the tab down.

The datasheet

Where a datasheet is held, it appears as a PDF you can open and read inside Partix without downloading it or leaving the dialog.

Parts with no datasheet on record show as not available. That is common for mechanical parts and for anything made in house.

Copying values

Several fields have a copy action beside them. It puts the value on your clipboard, which saves retyping a long part number or description into a supplier's site or an email.

What this tab is not

Product attributes describe the part as a product in the world, not your relationship with it. Those live elsewhere:

Question Tab
How many do I hold? Location
What did I pay? Purchases
What does it cost me? Costing
How does Partix treat it? Settings

If a value here is wrong, it is a data problem with the part record rather than a stock problem, and correcting it does not affect any quantity.
